He hesitated. “My goddess..."

His body throbbed, desire lacing through his limbs. How could either of them go on without this? It didn't matter how wild she made him. As long as she fed the need, he didn't care how desperate he felt. He prayed she'd find someone to give her what she needed when he was gone.

His jaw locked as another sort of desperation swept over him. He knew how death worked. In an odd sort of segregation, the rewarded gods and goddesses retired to The Valley of Rest while mortal souls passed through the veil to another paradise. Gods ... eternity without her.

He needed her now.

"Take off your clothes before I rip them,” he growled.

Her eyes went wide as she stared up at him. She wanted him to take her power. This was the only way he knew how.

"You have no idea what you're doing to me. Take off your clothes."

She bit her bottom lip. Slowly, she reached for the back of her halter and its hidden closure.

Her movements remained unrushed as if to deliberately incite him to action.

"You'd better hurry,” he warned. “That's an awfully pretty outfit. I'd hate to ruin it."

She froze, her breast heaving with a shuddering breath. “I'm sure Anya would make me another."

"Je-ett!” he groaned, his agitation clear.

"Tha-ad,” she returned in the same tone. There was no hurrying her. Despite her subordinate position, she seemed intent on torture, and he was her victim.

Any day, he thought. Torture me any day. See what it gets you.

Her hands dropped to her side without releasing the top.

"I apologise.” She lifted a shoulder. “I am always trying to be in control."

"You have no control here,” he asserted, his arms over his chest. He lifted a brow as he regarded her. “I suppose, I'll have to prove that to you."

He lunged for her, tugging her up into his arms. He tossed her onto the bed. Before she could respond and scramble away, he lashed her arms and legs with energy bands, splaying her spread-eagle across the bed as they were held toward the four posters. She could free herself immediately if she chose. But she chose not to. She pulled against the bindings, writhing sinuously, testing their tightness.

Her pearled nipples pressed against the filmy fabric of the halter and his mouth watered to taste her sweet treasures again.

Jett's eyes fixed on his. “Now, what are you going to do, my Warlock-god? I seem to still have all my clothes on."

He fought back a smile. Jett wasn't very good at being submissive. She was good in so many other ways. Perhaps, she'd appreciate a slow, sensuous ‘punishment’ that would have her screaming her pleasure for the entire household to hear.

"That won't be a problem."

He raised a hand, and her shirt split from collar to waist as if he'd drawn a blade down the delicate fabric.
