Callie

Reese goes still, something lighting in his rich brown eyes as our gazes lock. There’s a suspended moment of time where neither of us moves. Time seems to stop as we stare at each other… and then everything snaps back into motion as he strides toward me.

He reaches me in only a few steps, his body colliding with mine as our lips meet. He doesn’t stop moving, walking me backward until my back is pressed up against the door, and then he pins me against it, his lips hungry and forceful on mine.

I kiss him back the same way, going up onto my tiptoes to try to get more as my hands roam over his muscled shoulders and back. I slide my fingers through his hair, gripping his head as if I need something to hold me steady as his tongue delves into my mouth.

He kissed me in the hotel room in LA, but it wasn’t like this.

Those kisses were deep and languid, where this feels almost frenzied—like he’s been waiting for it as much as I have.
