Pippa
Pippa opened her mouth, her gaze locked on Masonâs. His eyes flashed with arousal as she closed her lips over the fork.
âMmm.â The creamy peanut butter and rich chocolate cheesecake melted on her tongue.
Masonâs throat bobbed as his gaze dipped to her mouth. His eyes drooped half closed, as if he were drunk. Spirals of lust spun up her body. She swallowed and licked her lips, her chest puffing out at the power of having such an effect on this man.
He leaned against the bedframe. Both of them knew where this was going. There was no need to pretend otherwise. Theyâd gone into his house, and like the gentleman he was, heâd gotten Lady situated with a bowl of water. Then heâd asked her if she wanted to eat in the kitchen, or the living room, or . . . Pippa had taken his hand and led him up the stairs. But he was the one whoâd opened his bedroom door and led her over to the mattress where they sat, side by side.
He cut off another bite of the dessert and offered it to her. Pippa took her time, slowly parting her lips, hoping she looked seductive as she slipped it into her mouth again.
âDonât you want some?â she asked.
He leaned in, capturing her mouth in a kiss, his tongue sliding in to duel with hers. She sucked, reaching out to cradle his head in her hands.
âMmm.â He groaned before pulling back. âTastes almost as delicious as you.â
Her eyebrows rose. âAlmost, huh?â
âI like it better off your body.â His finger traced over the swells of her breasts above the emerald dress.
âSo what are you waiting for?â Her voice came out so quiet. Something about this moment required whispered reverence.
âWhatâs the rush?â He set the cake on the bedside table. Besides his actual bed, there wasnât much in the dark blue room. It was clean, with military precision. A dresser with a box on top was the only other piece of furniture in the sparse space. A few pictures of Aspen adorned the walls, but that was it.
âIâve been waiting a long time for this . . . for you.â She met his gaze, lifting the hem of his shirt.
He helped her get it off his body and threw it onto the floor while getting to his feet. âWhich is why we should savor every moment.â
He reached out a hand to her. She took it and stood. She didnât say a word as he spun her around, locating the zipper on the back of her dress. The sound of the teeth parting as he slowly undressed her was the only noise in the otherwise quiet room.
âShould we put some music on?â Pippa asked as cool air rushed over her bare back. Nerves swirled in her belly, tying her belly into knots. Heâd never seen her fully naked. He hadnât yet laid eyes on her rolls and cellulite. âMaybe dim the lights?â
Her dress dropped, and she closed her eyes. The silence was deafening.
