* * *
My soul surged with purpose as I led Violet deeper into the heart of the forest. The moon hung high in the night sky, casting its silver glow upon our path. The distant sounds of celebration echoed around us, the joyous laughter and the melodies of lovers hidden among the trees. It was a night of secrets, shared desires, and the transformative power of the moon.
As we ventured further into the woods, the first howl of a transformation pierced the air. It was a reminder of the impending change, a primal call to the creatures of the night. I was both eager and apprehensive about my transformation. Would Violet, who had only just been introduced to our world, be repulsed by my change? Would she flee from me in fear or disgust?
But I couldn't allow such doubts to cloud my mind. I had to show her, to share this part of my life with her. It was why I was leading her to my favorite secret spot, where the moon's magic was potent. There, under the silver light, I hoped to reveal the true nature of my existence and the bond that connected us in this enchanted world.
âWhere are we going, Cole?â Violet asked, and she giggled. It was music to my ears.
âSomewhere special, love. Patience.â
âMmm. And what will we do there?â she teased, squeezing my hand.
âJust you wait, my little Vivee,â I said.
She giggled in response, and I grinned. Around us more movement and giggling. Then, moans and howls. Tonight, a lot of pups would come into being. But suddenly, I couldnât think of much more because Violet gasped. I glanced up to view the large waterfall.
The moonlight bathed it, transforming the cascading waters into a silvery curtain of enchantment. The sight was captivating, but my attention was drawn back to Violet, who stood beside me. Her eyes shimmered with a reflection of the moon's radiance, and I couldn't help but be captivated by her beauty in this magical moment.
I whispered, âIt's like something out of a dream, isn't it, Vivee?â
âYes,â she whispered back. She eyed me, and her pupils dilated. I brought my lips to her soft ones, and a moan slipped from her. She grabbed the back of my head as I bent to scoop her into my arms. The scent of her body and hair was driving me insane. And yet, the pull into my wolf form called to me even more. I would change soon, and I wanted it. I set her on her feet.
I stumbled back, my breaths now quick and labored through my nose. The world shifted as my sense of smell intensified, overpowering me with each breath.
My brows raised as my hands lengthened, becoming paws, and my fingers grew razor-sharp claws. Breathing shifted to a primal rhythm, and the profound internal changes taking place to accommodate my impending wolf form made an impression on me. Falling to my knees, I gritted my teeth as bones snapped and realigned, forming hind legs in the place of my human limbs.
