Henry, Elizabeth and Edward

Henry saw little of his children, much against his will, but when he did see them he gave them all his attention, this time he wanted to spend time talking to them.

The three of them were together in a small room that required very little heating and very soon all three were in animated conversation, suddenly Edward jumped up,“Look he exclaimed,”Its snowing, can we go out Father”?“Certainly not,you will catch your death of cold”,“Oh father please interrupted,Elizabeth”,“We could have great fun”,“I don’t think there is enough snow at the moment, wait till tomorrow then we shall decide then”.“Allright perhaps your right, but when we wake up in the morning,we may go out”?“Yes of course if thats what you wish”, “Is that a promise?Yes that is”.

The following morning as the children looked out it was still snowing,Edward found his way to his fathers room and jumped on his bed “Father”,exclaimed Edward shaking him “What is it”?“You promised my self and Elizabeth that we could go out all three of us for a smowball fight”.“Did I really say that”? “Yes?Yes”,echoed Elizabeth as she came into the room,”So huury up and get dressed, and we will meet you on the lawn”,If you say so,Henry reluctantly agreed,he would much rather stay in his warm bed,but a promise is a promise. He crawled out of his bed and with the assistance of his dressing staff made his way painfully to the guilty pair who had awakened him and were now standing facing him with huge smiles on their faces.“You young demons go ahead Ishall follow in a moment”.The two youngsters ran out and Henry with help started to make hisway with the help of one of his manservant to the back lawn where upon opening the door the two men were greeted by a barrage of snowballs,“You little devils”,yelled Henry,he turned to his manservant ““If they want a fight we shall give them one,you make the snowballs, and I shall throw them,I have not done this in years”,he declared “I shall enjoy this”,he turned to Tom “Come along man get strarted”,Henry waited till he had quite a stock then started throwing them but he was receiving more than he threw he turned to Tom,“Go and fetch one of the stable lads we need reinforcements”,Tom soon returned with help, there was much shouting and laughing and finally Henry held up his hands,“Thats enough,I can play no more,I admit defeat, look at me I am covered in snow, and I must meet with ministers, but you may stay and play a little longer”,“Thank you father”,as she ran to give him a kiss,“But I must go to my room for something” as Henry turned to leave he passed the stable lad,“Keep an eye on them lad see that they come to no harm they are very precious to me”,“Yes sire then went back into the affray”.

Elizabeth had suggested to Edward that when their father returned inside that they build a snowman in their fathers imagine Edward had promptly agreed, hence Elizabeth dissapearance, only to return later with some of her fathers
