We found the Circlets lying in the mud behind the Venusian restaurant on Traximar Street. “Yeah, that looks like them.” I figured that we could give up on the chase now. We’d be up to our eyeballs in paperwork for the whole afternoon if we brought in the thieving kid, and I for one wouldn’t be comfortable putting a pretty young thing like him in the cell with all those thugs and career criminals. “Come on, we’d better get them back to the Station.” I held my hand out.

Sarkan smirked and moved the circlets out of my reach. “Not so fast, Toy Boy.”

“I’m not your toy.”

“Yeah, right. Next thing, you’ll be telling me you don’t love me playing with you, and we both know that’s a big fat lie.”

“Fuck off, Sarkan.” I was three years older and four inches taller than him, for gods’ sake. Never should have told him about the cybernetic enhancements I’d had fitted. He’d never have known otherwise—it was all on the inside. Just a bit of extra strength and speed to give me the edge in a dangerous line of work.

“I’m hungry,” Sarkan said. “Must be about time for a break.” There was that glint in his eyes that I knew meant he was turned on. Chases always had a way of doing that to him. He had far more energy than should be allowed. Bet he’d been doctored too. Not that he’d ever admit to being anything other than one hundred percent natural human.

“Not here. It’s too public.” My body was reacting with excitement at the idea, but I couldn’t have him thinking he could fuck me wherever and whenever he wanted; especially not in uniform. There’s only a certain amount of unprofessional conduct our superiors were willing to turn a blind eye to, and I had a feeling we were reaching the limit, what with the brothel debacle last week.

“Aww, that’s sweet of you to offer.” Sarkan groped my half-hard cock through my pants, making me wince. “But I was thinking of real food. Come on, let’s grab a burger on the way back.”

I took a moment to calm my breathing, eyes closed against the humiliating sight of him walking away from me. I was such a fool.
