“Damn! Too bad they’re house chips,” she said with a laugh.

Everyone seemed to be enjoying the shoot, but Marla’s feet were starting to ache from the red satin sandals they were squeezed into. The hot weather was making her swell.

Lori must have noticed the telltale crease in her brow, because next thing you know she had her up on the roulette table stretched out on her stomach, knees bent, legs in the air like a classic girl-on-the-piano bit.

“Oh, trés fifties, Marla, you are just my blast-from-the-past girl. Roll up on your left hip, will you, dear?”

Tom stood back and watched Marla do her thing. Paris was saying something to him, but he didn’t hear because he couldn’t take his eyes off the blonde in red.

“Kind of sounds like sex when they do that, doesn’t it?” B.B.’s voice came from behind Tom’s left ear, along with the distinct odor of bourbon.

“ ‘Roll on your hip, now move, honey.’ ” B.B.
