Bear

“You going to stand there glaring daggers at Torque all damn night?” Blade, the VP of the club asks, coming up beside me.

“I don’t know what the fuck you’re talking about,” I growl.

Blade just chuckles. “If that’s the way you want to play it. But, just so you know, you’ve always been loyal. Steadfast and hard to read. But this?”

He motions between me and where Sara is sitting, laughing at something Torque had just said. “You seriously suck at hiding this.”

He laughs as he walks away, shaking his head from side to side. I look over to my club President, who is sitting with his wife in the same circle Sara is sitting in. The whole time I’ve been watching Sara, I never even noticed my Prez. And right now, he’s staring at me with a thoughtful expression on his face.

I snap my gaze away and take off in a brisk walk towards the bikes out front. Maybe I can get the hell out of here before anyone can stop me.

“Bear!” I hear from behind me, and I let out a groan.

Turning around, I see Mina and Miranda rushing toward me, with Sara between them. She doesn’t seem too steady on her feet.

Instantly, I abandon my escape plan. “Is she okay?”

“I swear all she had was three,” Miranda says. “She is definitely a lightweight.”

“Are you heading home?” Mina asks. A small grin plays around her mouth.

I narrow my eyes.

These girls are known to be sneaky and crafty. It’s almost a prerequisite to becoming an Ole Lady of the club.

“Yeah, I was...” I say, waiting. I know damn well what her next question will be.

“Can you drive her home? Timber said you can call one of the prospects to pick you up.” She raises her brows, waiting for my answer.

I want to groan. I was purposely trying to get as far from Sara as possible before I ripped Torque’s throat.

I know he does the shit on purpose because he knows how I feel about her. But even that knowledge isn’t helping right now.

“Sure,” I mutter, turning to look for her tiny four-door car. “Where are the keys?”

I hate riding in fucking cages. That’s all they are really. Cages with four wheels and the smaller they are, the worse they are.

“Right here.” Mina hands me the keys and all three girls are grinning.

As I stand there holding Sara under my arm and her keys in my hand, I watch as the other girls walk away, giggling to each other. I’m shocked into getting a move on when a slim hand reaches up, curling fingers into my beard.

“Mmm, Bear.” She tips her head back and grins at me through hooded eyes. She looks so fucking sexy right now. My eyes drop to those sweet plump lips, and all I want to do is kiss her.

“Come on,” I grunt, moving toward the car. “I’ll get you home and into bed.”

Sara giggles. “Exactly what I’ve been wanting.”

Fuck my life, but it’s exactly what I’ve been wanting too.
