The Android XML file generator does not always correctly put the namespace in there (the “xmlns:android...” part), so add it to the rotate node if it is missing. You need to add several attributes. First, add a duration, which specifies how many milliseconds this animation will last. Then, because it is a rotation animation, you need to specify fromDegrees and toDegrees attributes (use 0 and 90 to make the square view appear to rotate from one side to the next). Specify an interpolator using any that are built in; this example uses overshoot_interpolator. Finally, you need to specify the x and y coordinates of the point on which the view will pivot with pivotX and pivotY. The pivot point can be specified in raw pixels (discouraged), percentage of the view itself (here we use 50% to mean it should rotate from the center of the view), or a percentage relative to the parent (specified like “10%p”).
