Sarah
He was currently hunched over the desk of it, the holograms were telling him something in those strange symbols that he told me was the Delosian language. It all seemed to be full of rather round, disjointed shapes instead of straight lines, that's what the calligraphy of his species' looked like.
And it was rather lovely in a sense.
"Alright so it says here...it's a message, encoded. It says that the heart of Nomida lays in the sun ...What does that mean?" he asked me and I glanced at the disk, my eyes furrowed in thought before I concluded, "It means that It's not underground then...right? That has to be what it means."
"I'm not sure I follow." He remarked. "Are you telling me that the actual pathway towards this thing lies somewhere in the mountains and that the rumor that it was stuck in one of the trees is just some sort of ruse designed to try and misguide searchers?"
"That's right." I concluded, "But where could it be then? Anywhere in the sun I guess...if you could find more of these disks then I'm sure that you can piece together something that makes sense but for now, I guess that this is the only info that we have. Should we just keep on searching in these caverns then?"
The cavern that he had described to me was a specific species of tree that would bury into the ground with roots that were hollow. The space inside of the roots would be filled with dirt but as water and minerals were absorbed the soil began to grow finer and finer and over years and years of erosion the space inside of these cavities became...well open. After a while, they could be walked into like regular caverns and I suppose that the Berians used that space to store their stuff. There were only a few trees that were like this in the area so I suppose that he could search them but there wasn't even the guarantee that they had the message written inside of them.
"Well I suppose that we should keep on searching then..." he remarked and got to his feet, stumbling back over to the bedroom with me aiding him, the disk laid there on the table, cold, unmoving, there were far more details and clues than I had previously thought there were. The search for this thing wasn't nearly as foolish as I had once thought it was and I had to say that I underestimated Sarel quite a bit with regards to this.
The next days were all the same, he would leave and return with the disks occasionally. He would slot them in and they would give us more clues. During this entire time, I was surprised at the quiet, at the lack of interference on the part of Karo and his men. I suppose that since we were on a mountain he had no way to really reach us but his lack of action was...disconcerting. I suppose that his
