Once you have taken back control for your own decisions, you start to regain a sense of self-esteem. This will help you to see and acknowledge your partnerâs flaws and hopefully why you no longer want the jilter back.
Relationships are based on trust. You realise that your partner has broken that trust by their actions, making it very difficult to rebuild what you had together. After so much betrayal, there is no going back.
Do not appear needy
How will you seem if you are looking helpless and pathetic when your former partner is already detached from you? Be honest with yourself: will it make things better, or worse?
Instead:
For your own sake and self-esteem, stop begging your partner to come back. You are not a doormat. And how much better will you feel when you maintain your dignity and the moral high ground?
⢠Learn to laugh again
⢠Practise laughing and smiling in front of the mirror. It may sound a bit weird, but actually it appears to give the instinctive part of your brain the message that you are happy
⢠Keep your head held high and shoulders back (you can cry later, but never in front of the jilter)
⢠Work on your self-esteem; you are a worthy human being
⢠Keep your pride intact (no begging). You deserve better.
