Need began to consume Adam like a flame sucking up all the available oxygen around him. He could feel Gillian’s eyes on him as he drove to his penthouse condo, but he didn’t dare look into her eyes for fear of what he would see staring back at him: apprehension. One to always keep his personal and business life completely isolated from his extracurricular activities, he had never taken a woman back to his place. His privacy was strictly off limits. But Gillian was different. She always had been. He tried his best to avoid her gaze because he didn’t want to see hesitation in her eyes or to think that she was having second thoughts.

When they came to stop at a red light, he couldn’t resist any longer and turned to face her. Naked desire and longing warmed the dazed expression on her face, lighting a powder keg in his gut. Knowledge flashed in her eyes and her confidence grabbed him by the throat when inch by inch, she gradually moved toward him. The light turned green, but his brain and body faltered when her scent and touch enveloped him.

“I want this, Adam,” she breathed hot into his ear as she nibbled his lobe.

Her ability to read him was eerie, but it was something he had grown accustomed to. He reached for the light switch to get a better view of the living art now standing in his sleeping quarters.
