Luz

Michael had returned to Luz to find Adi there tapping her fingers on his desk in anticipation. Her worship had been interrupted by shouting and knocking at the door. When she opened the door, she saw Madin, her chief dock supervisor, holding his throat and pointing down to the dock. Seeing piles of fresh evergreens being loaded onto ships sent her reeling with questions, to which Madin’s only whisper was: the Highest Governor ordered it.

Immediately she left for Luz to wait for Michael’s report and assistance.

“Michael!” she cried out as he appeared in the large room within the Kodesh.

“Adi? What are you doing here?”

“It’s Daystar. While we were talking to Atara, Daystar went down to my docks and commanded Madin to issue an order for an overharvest of evergreens.” She began to cry. “Michael…he…he…put his fist around Madin’s throat!”

Michael’s eyes widened. Neither of the High Governors had words for pain, hurt, abuse, or injury in their vocabulary because those things had never been. He silently wished he had found out about this before his meeting with Abba so that he could have sought more counsel.

“Adi, it was good that you left then. Is he still there in the Northern Territory?

“Um…I don’t know where he went.”

“Well, it is good that you are here. I need to call the others immediately. I will share what Abba told me. Eventually, Emmanuel will come to give us instruction.” Michael opened a large window and looked outside. Spotting a messenger, he beckoned him to go tell Phinael, Gabriel and Atara to come immediately to Luz. One second later, the messenger was gone.

Adi arose from her chair and paced. Michael sat, head bowed in quiet reflection of his meeting with Abba.

After a while, Phinael descended into the room. He looked around and sat quietly waiting for the others. Suddenly a knock was at the door. It was another messenger.

“Governor Michael?” inquired the lithe female messenger.

“Yes, speak.”

“Governor, I have a message from Atara. She said that she is aligned with Helel Ben Shachar and will not attend this meeting.”

Michael stood mouth agape. Then collecting himself, he kindly thanked and dismissed the messenger.

Phinael spoke up. “I guess she is still in disagreement with our decision to follow protocol.”

Michael pursed his lips as Gabriel walked through the door.

“Okay Michael,” said Adi. “What did Abba instruct?”

At that moment, Emmanuel appeared in the room. He went to each one and hugged them.

“I love you all. I adore each and every one of you. As you know, I speak only what Abba speaks and I do only what He does. If you see me, you see Him. Abba is Love. Love only trusts. Love only believes. Love thinks only good.” His eyes glistened and then became fiery.

“A new day has come. A day not even Abba had ordained.” Emmanuel paused and looked at each governor in their eyes.

“There has been a leaning away from Abba by Helel Ben Shachar. This leaning away has been named iniquity. Abba is urging Helel to take his eyes off of himself and return his gaze to Him.
