Blogging is Being Human, and Sharing Experiences
A BLOG ISNâT RUN BY itself; humans run a blog. The volume of forgotten or retired blogs reflects this reality. A person must have the passion and the desire to change a blog for the better. Some of the most prolific writers have said that their blogs didnât connect with their readers until they challenged themselves to be more open about what they most feared. Often, we are afraid of criticism because criticism begets change, and that can be scary. No writer likes to hear that their blog has problems, just as no person likes to hear that they have to change something about their lifestyle for the benefit of heath, or that they arenât making the impact on the world that they thought they were.
A writer needs to make changes to their blog when what they once did doesnât work anymore. To simply keep on writing about complicated book spines, or how exhausting it can be to write a blog, or how hard it is to publish a book and maintain a decent work/life balance at the same time, turns very quickly into an endless-sounding âpoor me writerâ broken record. The best blogs change, and the best writers evolve, but this happens only when writers challenge themselves to do so.
One of the greatest powers a writer has is the power of creativity. Writers are often perceived by the outside world to be wildly creative people, but this isnât always the case. Many writers are normal, organized, goal oriented people who are able to take an idea a spin it around and expand on it. Many successful writers have faced setbacks in their lives and careers, some of which are the stuff of legend, and others just found their groove later in life. There are very few people who say that they achieved instant success. There are even fewer who donât have a strong emotional support system, and some just had a lightning strike of good luck before they found their groove.
A writer is human, and humans need to face challenges before they can change for the better. A writer must challenge himself to explore the depth and breadth of the emotional scale most people donât want to contemplate. For some people, writing is the only thing that kept them going during hard times. By writing a journal, they were able to both internalize and externalize their pain to others as they worked through some of those challenges. Writers seem to be more willing to face their many demons than other people. This does not mean that the writer rarely thinks positive thoughts, but rather the writer turns a naturally negative situation into a blog post that serves to be inspirational to others.
The pain and joys of life are best described by a writer who has felt them. The challenges they were able to face and learn from make them more interesting writers. Better writers write better blogs. A blog, much like a private
