“What’s all the excitement honey?” Richard as he settled against the doorframe.

Alison, a little surprised at his sudden arrival, what with Kebi still at her side, didn’t turn around. Over her shoulder, she passed him the spotting scope. “Here, look and you know where.”

Richard raised questioning brows at her statement, but did as he was told. However, experience as an Army sniper had taught him to scan the entire area, slowly focusing in on the spot in question.

As he got to the section directly in front of the same cave where he’d been held prisoner, he came close to dropping the scope. “Sasha. She’s alive,” he whispered. Wanting to make sure he wasn’t seeing things he looked again, then down at a happy faced collie. “Yes, Kebi. That has to be your sister.”

“Her what?” Alison said, her voice trembled with surprise.

“To make a long…” Richard never got to finish as a howl, as strong and piercing as Kebi’s earlier, echoed down from the hillock.

The sound hadn’t faded when they both saw Kebi race from the room. “Kebi, no girl. This way.” Much to his astonishment she obeyed, and followed him down the backstairs that led to the garage. “Jack, crank ‘em up,” Richard yelled out as he, Alison and Kebi exited the lower portion of the residence. The sound of two dirt bikes reverberated through the house.
