Stranded in the Past

Much later, Danny was to remember the utter strangeness of that scene: the deep shadows out of which peered staring faces lighted by the yellow lantern and the bright beam of the flashlight, the contrast between the shining machinery of the chronocycle and the ancient pistols which Mr. Franklin held steadily pointed at them. But now, his only sensation was of horrified shock.

“Tell him, Professor!” he cried. “Don’t let him shoot! We’re from the future!”
