An open source set of plans have been made available at ponoko.com, by Kiwi designer, Nick Taylor of Weird Sky Designs, who has been manufacturing some of the very best examples on the market or more than three years. His versions come in three sizes, and include smart leather or wooden cases. His customers come from a very wide range of professions; musicians, furniture-makers, specialist artisans (potters, pipe-makers and woodworkers), architects, and product-designers. Perhaps most interestingly, the largest and fastest growing demographic of his customers are cosmetic surgeons.
