2.From an aesthetic point of view, this is of clinical importance towards both the mandible and the maxilla. Flaring of the condylar-ramus unit can cause gonial angle asymmetry and widening of the lower face (Go-Go). In the midface, flaring could cause paranasal asymmetry.
