“I'm not ready to leave you yet,” London whispered to Rash as she lay tucked in his arm with her head on his shoulder.

“Don't want you to leave,” he replied to the ceiling before looking down at her, “but you have to do what's best for your safety.”

She moved to rest on her elbow and looked at him.

“Could I come see you sometimes?"

He shook his head, “Not till the threat is gone.”

She slumped back onto his chest.

“Until then, I’ll come to where you are.”

He felt her smile against his chest as she squeezed his waist.

Rash released London as he reached next to the bed to grab his ringing phone.

“Rash here.”

“Clubhouse ten o'clock.”

Rash glanced at the time. “Got it.”

“Bring her with you.”

“Done.”

Rash disconnected. Puzzled at King’s demand he relayed the message to London.

“Gotta get up. We have to be at the clubhouse by ten.”

“We?”

“That's what he said.”

“Why me? I don't think they like me there.”

Rash smiled as he tilted her chin up to meet her pleading eyes.

“They can be harsh, but he's helping. Nothing to worry about. I got you.”
