“Just got a note from a dude’s wife (had no idea he was still married). She reached out to me because, in her words, it was “her only option”, to get the truth. I haven’t seen this guy in weeks as I was not really interested anyway. Do I reach out back to her? Or let him know she called me?”

I would ignore her. It’s really unfortunate that she feels reaching out to you is her “only option”. Surely, she knows something is going on and her husband isn’t giving her answers she can trust, so she has to validate his stories with other women. That’s a terribly sad situation.

But that’s not your drama to deal with. You respond to the wife, I guarantee you will hear from her again with either follow up questions or accusations. All she’s going to do is go back to her husband and say, “I talked to so-and-so and she said…” And you will likely hear from him too.

The wife knows she is in a bad situation, she wants to know how bad, and honestly, I don’t see her leaving. This is just an anecdotal observation from hearing so many stories over the years, but the women who call rarely bounce.
