DOLPHIN

What a big drink of life

I take with my in-breath

before diving into the sea.

What a big drink of life

I let out in a burst,

rising from the waves.

Traveling the world’s oceans

I carry the pattern of the tides within.

Underwater rhythms make up my heartbeat

the song of the ocean sings in my skin,

calling the waters home.

And so it is with me.

Riding the waves

surf curling at my edges

I dive into the deep reefs of time.

Drenched by the ocean blue

the sound carries me

in leaps and bounds

out from the depths

and back into the wild,

wet world.
