Chapter Eight

Harmon turned the television off at the end of the evening. “Ready to go to bed?” He couldn’t wait to strip naked with Michael and feel his lover moving within him. He held his hand out to Michael.

“I am.” Michael allowed Harmon to pull him to his feet, then down to the bedroom. “I didn’t bring a toothbrush.”

“I just so happened to buy a double pack of toothbrushes and have one you can use.” Harmon turned away from Michael to hide his embarrassment. Of course he’d bought a double pack. He was the type to plan ahead. He had extra toothbrushes, extra paper towels—he bought socks with the mindset he’d need more soon and might as well have them on hand.

“Thank you.” Michael snagged him in his arms. “I’m glad you thought ahead. I don’t always remember stuff like toothbrushes.”

He kissed Michael. They were similar in so many ways, but opposite in a lot of others. He appreciated Michael’s ability to not laugh at him, but rather encourage his idiosyncrasies.

Michael threaded his hands into Harmon’s back pockets, then walked him back to the bed, where he nudged Harmon down, tumbling on top of him.

Harmon groaned, but continued the kiss. He sucked on Michael’s tongue, loving the taste of him. He memorized the feel of Michael’s body on top of his. He hadn’t allowed himself to let go like this in forever.

Michael tugged his hand free from Harmon’s ass, then slid his palm under Harmon’s T-shirt.

A groan bubbled in Harmon’s throat. He shoved his own hands under Michael’s shirt and explored the planes of his torso. When he reached Michael’s nipples, he toyed with the rings. He’d never dated anyone with pierced nipples and part of him wanted to taste his lover. He wanted to know what it was like to tug on those rings with his teeth and hear Michael cry out.

“Yes,” Michael said. He straddled Harmon and sat back on his heels. He pulled his shirt up over his head, exposing his upper body.

Harmon drank in the view of Michael. The tattoo of a wounded heart covered his left pectoral. The name Saints had been written in Gothic calligraphy across his abdomen and a sundial design covered the apex of his right shoulder at the top of his arm. The rings glinted in his nipples and a thin trail of hair was visible between his pecs and fading down toward his navel.

“Want me?” Michael asked. “I want you.”

“You’ve got me.” He wrestled out of his shirt, then sprawled out beneath Michael again. “I’m not going anywhere.”

“Good.” Michael curled over him and kissed along Harmon’s chest. He sucked one nipple into his mouth, then trailed his fingers along Harmon’s belly.

Harmon wanted to suck in his stomach. He wanted to be perfect for Michael, too. Damn. He palmed the back of Michael’s head and panted. It’d been so long since he’d allowed himself to be bare with someone. He preferred to keep up the barriers around his heart, but Michael knew how to knock those carefully constructed walls down.
