So what’s new in the dark underbelly of the Panopolis political sphere? How about the revelation of a million-dollar donation to our new mayor’s campaign, ostensibly anonymous, that yours truly has traced back to GenCorp, the parent company of several large GMO corporations that have their headquarters right here? Let’s connect that with the new law our city council just approved, making it permissible for GMO food to be preferentially placed on supermarket shelves in the poorest neighborhoods of our city. We’re talking food that glows in the dark, people, food that the FDA shakes its magic wand at and declares “Safe” in exchange for a tidy sum. Food that’s being tested on those least likely to make a fuss, because hey—it’s cheap.

In my humble opinion, this power play is rotten to the core.
