Need some confidence boosters and power pick-me-ups? Try one or all of the following:

Appreciate what you have. Use your Goal Tracker to list the big and small things you’re thankful for. Review the list whenever you feel down or unsure. By focusing on what you have, rather than on what you don’t, you’ll fill your days with a sense of appreciation.

Remember what’s good. Recall some of the best compliments you’ve ever received and write them down. (And the next time someone says something nice about you, believe it! Smile, and say, “Thanks, I like that about myself, too.”) You can also take photos or videos of moments you want to remember.

Let go of worries. Instead of letting your mind run in circles, grab your Goal Tracker and write down any thoughts that are bothering you. When you see your worries on paper, they may not seem as troublesome. Plus, writing about them may help you find a solution. If not, talk to someone you trust about what’s going on.

Do something nice for someone else. Pick up a piece of trash, wash the dishes (without being asked), help a friend solve a problem, or carry in a neighbor’s groceries. Acting kindly toward others helps you feel good about yourself, and when you feel good about yourself, you’re more likely to take action toward your goals.

Tune out to tune in. Distractions can disrupt even the most ambitious Goal Getters. So if you’re feeling distracted, it might be time to tune out by turning off your electronic devices, wearing noise-canceling headphones, or moving to a “it’s time to get serious” area.

Get a move on. A body at rest stays at rest. So does a mind at rest. So if you’re resting more than you’d like, get up and move. Right now! Touch your toes, stand up, reach for the sky, dance—just move.

Here’s how other Goal Getters lift themselves up when they need to:
