Chapter 21

Margaret

Meanwhile, on the Royal floor, the King and Queen sat in their room wide awake, attempting to theorize this prophecy that Mother Nature had presented them.

While Jeremiah paced back and forth, Margaret sat in her bed in deep thought trying to guess who these sisters might be. Did they already know them? Were they coming in from an outside world? What did Mother Nature mean by restoring peace to Folklaria? thought Margaret. As far as the history books go back, there had never been true peace in Folklaria. There had to be something in Folklaria’s history that had not been uncovered. The thought of this all was exciting, yet completely stumping her.

“What could this mean?” Jeremiah asked, still pacing.

“I just don’t know. How could two people, who are not us, defeat him? Our powers exceed anyone’s powers here.”

“That’s why these sisters can’t be from here. They must be from another enchanted land beyond the Folklarian Sea. We’ve often wondered what’s beyond there.”

KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK.

Margaret and Jeremiah whipped their heads toward their door, then to each other.

“Company at this hour?” puzzled Margaret.

With a point of Jeremiah’s wand, the door opened, revealing Marshall and two girls.

“Marshall?” said Margaret. “What are you doing here?”

“And who is with you?” added Jeremiah.

“I am so sorry to disturb you at such a late hour. These women are here to speak with you.”

Jeremiah and Margaret looked at each other, knowingly. “You two are the sisters from the prophecy, aren’t you?” assumed Jeremiah. “But…one of you is a fairy?” He looked at Roxie.

“How do you know about me and January?” June interrupted.

“What prophecy?” asked Marshall.

Jeremiah shut the door behind them.

“I’m not her sister,” Roxi straightened out. “I’m Roxi. This is June.”

Jeremiah rose to his feet and with a firm expression, he asked, “Are you or are you not one of the sisters from the prophecy?” Demanding an answer.

“I-I don’t know, sir,” trembled June. The nervous young lady straightened her posture, puffed out her chest, and said, “I’m here looking for my sister. She went missing and we think that she’s with the Wicked Sorcerer.”

“You are,” marveled Margaret.

“It’s you,” Jeremiah added.

“What’s me?”

Marshall’s eyebrows drooped in frustration. “What in the world is going on?”

Jeremiah looked at Margaret as if he was asking for permission to tell them about the prophecy. The Queen nodded in agreement.

“Mother Nature visited us on the way to the Folassel Festival,” Jeremiah began. “She told us of a prophecy. Two sisters would arrive to Folklaria, they would battle the wicked, defeat it, and restore peace to Folklaria.”

June raised her eyebrows. “And you think those sisters are… me and January?”

“You must be. Mother Nature said that you would come to us and when you did that we needed to listen to you,” said Margaret.

“Who is Mother Nature?” June wondered.

“She’s lovely,” said Roxi.

“She’s an ancient spirit in Folklaria. She’s been around longer than our history books and knowledge go,” Jeremiah explained.

“How did she know about us?” asked June.

“She knows everything,” Marshall remarked.

“You cannot be from Folklaria,” assumed Margaret.
