The night I fell in love with a lesbian karaoke singer.

We were at a house party,

Testing out the new karaoke machine

When she stood up and demanded a go,

Shaven head and backside the size of a hippo’s yawn;

Face like a bulldog chewing a wasp,

She didn’t smell too good either,

More like a steelworkers armpit

But sing she could,

It was a really difficult “Nickelback” song,

“Photograph” I think,

And when she opened her mouth

The angels came down from heaven to listen,

They must have heard her before,

She was amazing,

A honeyed voice in a gravelly sort of way

And it stopped raining outside,

It was as if even the sun wanted to be in her backing band,

By the end of the song,

I had fallen in love with the lesbian karaoke singer.
