Chapter 25 - Revelation

The morning sun rose after the last tone floated out over the Atl valley and into the morning mists of the ocean. The breeze was cool and blew Amma’s hair into wild dark curls against her face and neck. Morning duties were complete and a morning repast was in order. She went quietly into the kitchen rather than being waited on in the dining room. On the chopping board were fresh baked loaves of breads, crumbled goat cheese, and fresh sliced tomatoes. She arranged small pieces of bread on the plate and covered them with alternating stacks of cheese and tomatoes to form a pleasant checkerboard effect. Amma was about to take her first bite when Arden entered the kitchen. On this morning, he wore the white linen robes of Atl’s initiates and his head was freshly shaven. She had not seen him in the weeks since his initiation.

“Great Mother, do have time to sit with me? I have questions for the High Priestess.”

His words took her aback as she had quickly assumed that he had come looking for her personally. The woman in her was definitely hoping for some one-on-one private time. They had not been together for some time and her body hungered for his male closeness. However, the teacher aspect always won out over the personal side of life.

“Of course, Arden. Come with me to my private consultation room.”

She looked at this earnest young man with the skillful eye of the teacher. Her appraisal of him was favorable. He had learned the energetic transfers with a maturity that far exceeded his age. As Raja’s protégé, he had become a key player in the surgical implantations of the crystals. He monitored their subject’s progress, tuned the crystals when necessary, and provided evaluation reports for Raja’s input. That Arden was also her lover played no part in her assessment.

“Lady, Queen, and Goddess, I am troubled.” Arden’s face showed no emotion and his eyes were honest and true. Amma leaned forward to encourage him to continue.

“Go on.”

“Lady, our experiments in the laboratory are exceeding expectations. However, Raja is showing you great disrespect and I am uncertain that I can maintain the standards required to perform my duties.” He paused to judge her reaction. “I do not mean to hurt you, Amma, but I am honor bound with my heart to you and the wisdom you have shared with me.”

“Thank you, Arden, but you also have loyalties to Raja and the work you perform with him as well.”

“Lady, Raja is doing more than he has reported to the Council.”

“Like what?”

Arden sniffed and for a moment, his eyes pierced her much in the same way Raja’s did. He fumbled with a quartz crystal he retrieved from his pocket.

“Like this.”

Arden handed her the crystal. Amma held it to her heart and allowed its consciousness to fill her. From its uncut point, the bright white flash of light exploded in her head as it was designed to do. Puzzled, she wondered why Arden thought this one was different.
