I barged into Liam’s office without knocking. He sat at the desk sipping a glass of blood. The soft sounds of Mozart piped through the intercom. The darkness cast several shadows over his face as he reclined back in his leather chair.

He jumped to his feet and slammed the glass of blood down on his desk. His eyes glowed. “Have you lost your mind? Where is Brad?”

I swallowed the hard lump in my throat. Liam’s eyes glowed when he was pissed. My voice was squeaky but I forced it out. “Sorry for running in here. Brad is dead. I found tracks from a newly transformed vampire and Chaniya. The male isn’t a vampire or werewolf. I felt that she might be in danger.”

“The tracks are probably from Corraine, but I can’t be sure. If that’s the case, then Aero went after her. Those two are new to the academy and Aero was badly injured fighting Trevor alone.”

“What? He must have a death wish.” The thought of fighting Trevor alone made my stomach quiver. My lips curved. If Aero fought Trevor then he would hold his own with Luc. I’m worried about Luc now.

I stepped back ready to sprint back there, so I could be the voice of reason for Luc, but Liam’s voice halted my strides.

Liam held up his hand and motioned me back inside his office. “He’s brave. Aero did save Corraine. I’m assuming Luc is following the tracks. I’ll send Claire and Maximus as backup.”

I nodded and closed his office door behind me. “I bet. I came back to make sure the demons aren’t up to something.”

“Not so fast. I don’t believe you killed Brad. What did you find out?

I swallowed. “Trevor is testing the powers of the DAO. He isn’t sure himself, what all they are capable of. He is testing Cyrus right now, which is his own son.”

Liam rubbed a hand down his face. “Damn. This is worse than I thought. That means he has at least two DAO that are completely loyal to him.”

My brows rose. “Who is the other DAO? Why don’t we just kill them?”

“Trevor had two identical twins with Kyra, Arianna’s identical twin. Their names are Cyrus and Catalaya. Kyra is now a floakan, what most students called the fallen angel.”

Liam walked over and drained his glass of blood. After pouring another, he sat down in his chair. “The only being that can kill a DAO is Valcrum and Zena. His children might be infants but they have enough power to wipe out the entire planet.”

“Are you telling me that we can’t stop them?”

“Valcrum help us all, if Trevor’s legion of floakan angels give birth to DAOs. I am many things, but I don’t murder children. Arianna would strike you down dead if she heard that you wanted to kill her niece and nephew.”

Liam took a sip from his glass. A light trail of blood dribbled down his chin. “A DAO can make a choice, whether they want to follow the light of an angel or the darkness of a demon.
