I found a new pastime. It was making my princess nervous. I liked her actions while she was nervous—her widened eyes, flushed cheeks, and her fingers pressing onto Lord Ganesha’s pendant, silently asking him to help her.

She was doing just that. Praying to the lord. I loved her innocence. But I loved it a bit more when her breathing became choppy and when she was conflicted between her actual feelings and what was expected of her.

I would gladly make her aware that she was also equally attracted to me.

“So?” I asked her when she was sweating just thinking about us showering together.

“I’ll freshen up later. You go ahead and shower.” She moved a step back to create more space between us.

I pulled her to my chest. “Why are you blushing, princess?” I got lost in her blissful eyes, and the sudden urge to touch her overpowered me, so I tucked a few strands of her hair behind her ear.

“Nothing.” Her eyes were downcast, reluctant to meet mine.

“I wasn’t suggesting to shower together, sweetheart. Though you’re interested in me doing things to you, I can’t do it yet,” I teased her again. “You know I’ll be intimate with you only after our marriage,” I leaned in and whispered in her ears.

She looked at me with widened eyes. “What’re you saying? I-I didn’t indicate that I wanted to be intimate with you.” She scrunched her nose, thinking, which was so fucking adorable. “Did I? Oh, Aryan. I’m so sorry. I-I never thought I—”

I chuckled and moved back, giving her space. Although I didn’t want to.

“It’s ok, princess. I’m just messing with you. Go and freshen up. We have one more bathroom in the outhouse which is my favorite place to be. Once you’re done showering ‘alone’, do come there.” I winked at her and went to my bedroom, laughing under my breath.

After about an hour, I was sitting in the outhouse, which held all the memories of my past. I was a different person then. Almost like Ahaan. Very energetic and charming. Until it happened. My mom was very concerned about me and advised me to come home. My engagement was broken off. I left behind all my dreams and continued my studies in India. The days that followed shook me and cleansed me to be a different person.

But being back here, every time I was pulled back to be the old me. This place made me feel rejuvenated and refreshed. Though I had a home back in India, this place would always be my happy place, and having my princess here just increased my feelings tenfold.

I was very close to music during my college, especially classical and western music. My mom was adamant about me learning it along with sword fights, and I couldn’t convince her otherwise.

The outhouse had brick walls similar to my home and it housed various musical instruments I had trained myself in. That included piano and guitar. There was a red couch in the corner of the room and warm lights were hanging from the ceiling to give a dreamy vibe.
