Chapter 25

Unable to get back to sleep after his conversation with Andres, Knight turned the television on and adjusted the volume to an acceptable level for 3:30 a.m.

Flipping again to Newsmax, he took in the news of the beginning day.

The news stated, “It is reported that a Russian submarine was spotted off the Gulf of Aden. Apparently, it has moved from the Indian Ocean and was last reported on the surface just off the coast of Yemen. The identifications of the submarine indicated that it is a Zulu class boat, and fully nuclear missile-armed. The UN Security Council meeting in assembly earlier has condemned both the Russian troop movements near the Turkish border as well and the American fleet presence now in the Mediation. According to the American Ambassador, the continued escalation by the Russian military leaves no alternative but to respond. It was learned just moments ago that two American B1 Bombers have arrived at Ramstein Air Base in Germany. As conditions continue to deteriorate, the UN Security Council continues to meet in search of a resolution.”

“And soon the Chinese will enter into this,” Knight sighed quietly.

As he lay there, his thoughts again swirled.

There is no going home now, he thought.

“Whatever I have gotten myself into needs to be seen to the end. There has to be a parallel track going on here,” he said to himself as he exited the bed and headed to the restroom. “That museum seems to be the epicenter of things. All things either end there or flow from there.”

Taking a quick shower, he got dressed and, sitting down on the bed, he tried to clear his mind.

I need my whiteboard, he thought. I need to diagram what is going on here.

Placing a call to the main desk, Knight requested that a large whiteboard be brought to his room, and surprisingly, a knock on his door resulted in a large whiteboard being removed from a conference room at the hotel being relocated to his room.

Without hesitation, he began to draw what he knew and just as he had suspected. All his lines gathered from his recalled information from both the activities of Cardinal Karpuchi and Nukria Moninoff. After running horizontally, converged at the museum.

“Okay, Trevor, think!” he said. “Moninoff has a device he needs to hide. He runs and ends up working at that museum. Karpuchi has a crown he needs to hide. And according to Brossard, may well be possessed by three demons, three Egyptian demons. So, given that both Moninoff, who was employed at the museum, and Karpuchi, whose possession may well be linked to ancient articles contained in the museum, I need to spend as much time there as possible. If Bulsar is somehow connected to Moninoff, I will get nothing from him.”

I need to get a hold of Unseen’s notes, he thought. And what of Fatima? She withheld information, originally until my mind saw through her.

He thought, What if she is not with Interpol? What if she is somehow working
