The Worrying Never Ends

My oldest son, who is 30, wasn’t feeling well. And when I texted him to see how he was doing he said, “You don’t need to worry about me.”

Bwahaha.

Apparently, he doesn’t know how the system works.

Basically it goes like this: Our kids are born and we start worrying. Actually, we start worrying even before they are born.

And it never ends. NEVER. Not when they are 10 or 20 or 30 years, 6 months and 8 days old. Dinosaur moms probably worried about their 300-year-old dinosaur children.

We worry when they go to nursery school and kindergarten and college. We worry when they are sick or unhappy. We worry when they don’t text us back. We worry they might get their hearts broken. We worry when there’s a pandemic and when there’s no pandemic. We worry that they might be cold or hungry. And on and on and on.

So my dear son, it’s super nice of you to tell me that I don’t have to worry about you. But until I take my last breath on this earth, I will be your mom. Which means I will worry.

P.S. If there’s an afterlife, I will worry from there too.
