IMPLEMENTING STORYTELLING

The decision to create spaces for facilitated storytelling and listening in organizations is not cavalier. Stories are deeply personal and vulnerable to the alchemical mix of forces within the environment where their telling is negotiated. Important practitioner considerations linked to the ideal conditions include the context in which stories will be told, creation of psychosocial spaces that invite authentic stories and deep listening, and the sensing of approaches that will invite stories and foster reflective dialogue grounded in the experience of tellers and listeners.
