2. Glue the smaller shape onto the larger shape as shown.

3. Glue the edges of this shape to create a cone.

4. Glue the larger opening down onto a piece of paper.

5. Once the hat is dry, trim the excess paper. Glue the smaller opening onto a circle of paper as shown.

6. Add details, such as the Mad Hatter’s trademark 10/6 card and a sewing pin (but snip off the sharp end with utility scissors first).

1. Start by making a cylinder. Adjust the width and height to your preference, but marching band hats should be fairly tall. Glue a thin band around the top and bottom.
