The point I tried to make when my turn came was simply that it was important to remember the insurgent quality that brought us much of the success we had experienced. That entailed the kinds of risks that had made Sopranos, Band of Brothers, and The Wire possible. My simple note was that it was easy to try to protect our lead and harder to continue to push our insurgent voice. Because I’m a political junkie I used a political metaphor to make the point. I remember Chris calling me that night and being very gracious in his praise for what I had said.
