For the common practitioner with the common transic absorption is the vision of the common experience. The common practitioner is a person who practices the Perfections and the common path. The common transic absorption consists of loving kindness, compassion, and the enlightened thought. The vision of common experience is the practice which generates a pure and uncontrived wish to selflessly undertake the benefit and happiness of sentient beings throughout space. The method to gain such a wish is (1) to meditate on loving kindness, which is the desire to benefit other beings; (2) to meditate on compassion, which is the desire to destroy the suffering of others; and (3) to meditate on the thought of enlightenment, which is the desire to gain Buddhahood for the sake of others.
