IN CASE YOU’RE wondering, we never talked about that fight we had on Saturday morning. I suppose you could say that we ‘talked’ about it physically, showing how much we need and care about each other, that we’re meant to be together no matter what Thiago did in the past. Sure, if you asked me a couple days ago if I could be in a serious relationship with a guy who used to work as an escort, I would have told you hell no. But Thiago opened my mind. I get it now why he would give guys sex for money. It’s a whole lot faster making cash that way than at a supermarket, making minimum wage under the table. When we’re having sex, I can’t believe he’s just going through the motions. He’s so intense, so present. He carries me away to a private world for the two of us that’s beautiful and safe. No one has loved me so much, and I don’t think anyone ever will.

On Sunday afternoon, when the time comes for him to head home and grab his work clothes for his overnight shift, I try to hold it together but I’m a fucking mess. One of my limbs is being ripped away, and I’m filled with anxiety though I don’t know why. Just want him with me all the time. With our work schedules, I know the week is going to be hell. Thiago has really changed me. I don’t care about work or anything, only being with him. When we say goodbye, we hold each other at the door, and I’m literally sniffing back tears like we’re not going to see each other for months. He has to leave. He’s already late. Thiago gives me a kiss on the mouth, and I watch him walk down the hall, get into the elevator and disappear.
