“Are you my guru?” I hoped.

“We’ve been together before, but you have issues that block you. Recent incarnations in the West have only reinforced these traits in you. The term guru is a word that is used loosely. You have all kinds of gurus, and the word applies to anybody who is exceptional in his or her field.”

He paused for a second and then said, “A guru is a person who knows God intimately and can make the introduction. Period. Anyone less than that is only a teacher. You are a person who wants to do it on your own, and so you shall. It can be a slower path but no less genuine. It is your path.”
