Chapter 45

Cable Cars and the Matterhorn

“Time for the cable car?” asks Tobin.

“I don’t like the sound of that. It has the word car in it,” says Dax.

“It’s like a compact car, but it’s suspended by a cable, and you ride it up the side of the mountain,” says Tobin.

“Count me out,” says Dax.

“I think that’s a good idea, after what happened last time,” says Tobin.

Dax puts his paws over his ears and sings ‘la la la’ loudly. Suddenly, there’s a knock at the door. Zorn opens the door. Molly walks past him. “Thanks, Uncle Zee.”

“OK Tobin, let’s go,” says Zorn as he walks out the door.

As Zorn closes the door behind him, Dax says, “OK, you two, tell me what you know.”

“There is a list as long as my arm. I don’t know where to begin,” says Alfie.

“Pretty much anything you’ve heard, that people think may have been aliens, BJ and Zee, and a varied mix of us, has been there,” says Molly.

“Dax, you are THE reason that the ancient Egyptians worshipped cats,” says Alfie.

“Hilarious,” says Dax.

“I’m serious. BJ and Zee were there, talking to the pharaoh, and as usual you couldn’t keep your mouth shut, and they heard you talk,” says Alfie.

“You started a whole religious movement.” Molly laughs.

“You’re yanking my chain, to coin a phrase,” says Dax. “That reminds me, will you get this harness off me?”
