QUIZ #41
THE COSTUME PARTY
Checking your e-mail one morning, you see a Paperless Post invite for a party. You click on the invitation and, to your surprise, you see that you’ve been invited to the coolest guy in school’s annual Halloween party—which is pretty much an honor, given that not everyone gets asked to attend. This is the first year your name has made the list.
The party is still a couple weeks away (you were just asked to Save the Date in the invite), so you have some time to figure out your costume. You’ve heard that people tend to go all out for this shindig, which means that you really want to mull over what to wear: Do you want to look like you belong there? Do you want to stand out? Do you want to be cute, or scary? Did your crush get invited, too? (If so, that might change everything.)
Your browse Pinterest for costume ideas, debating among options that feature movie-caliber makeup, super scandalous getups, and clever DIYs. You want your costume to be unique enough so that it’s not something everyone is wearing.
Finally, you settle on what you’re going to dress up as for the party, after weighing all possibilities.
What do you choose?
You get some also-invited friends together, and make a group decision to wear costumes that are coordinating but tame, like Troll Dolls or cartoon characters.
You take this opportunity to wear something as scary as possible, and dress up like a decomposing zombie with plenty of fake blood.
You dress up like a pun or play on words, wearing a T-shirt that says “Life” on it and handing out lemons to everyone.
You dress up as something festive but generic, like a witch. You don’t want to draw attention to yourself.
You think costume parties are kind of silly, because it’s just about pretending to be someone you’re not—you decide to just wear a fun wig or glasses.
You dress like your favorite TV character and hope that people get it.
