108 SEE INTO THESE EYES
As with humans, the pupils in a cat’s eyes naturally dilate (enlarge) in the dark to allow in more light and, of course, they shrink when the cat is in a bright area. But, if your cat’s pupils are dilated and she hasn’t recently been in the dark, it means she’s stimulated and trying to gather more information about her surroundings. She may be feeling excitement, aggression, anxiety, or even pain. If her pupils remain dilated, it could be a sign of a health problem, so have her checked out by a vet.
If your kitty’s pupils suddenly constrict, and it doesn’t seem to be because of a change in light, she could be angry, or she may be ready to pounce on something.
