Chapter Ten
Damn, heâs hot.
The thought ran through Danaiâs mind while Crown Prince Zawadi dictated his expectations from her as part of the princesâ rugby team. Heâd already apologised for accusing her of sleeping with his brother.
Weird. Her initial anger at his false accusation had faded, replaced by this warmth in her belly as she stared at his rugged facial features and deep black eyes.
She could use other words to describe him, but her brain cells only seemed interested in one right now.
Hot.
He filled out the two-tone, funnel neck, long-sleeved black and grey tracksuit covering him from collar to ankles. His trainers were black with white soles, similar to what she had on.
Sheâd never seen him in any attire that bared his skin apart from hands and face. All his tunics and dress-shirts were long-sleeved, and of course, he always wore trousers.
It was the mix of intense intelligence and athleticism about him that drew her attention. He wasnât the arrogant sports star who walked around with a smirk like Prince Zareb. Or even the sexy playboy always photographed with women hanging off his arms like Prince Zik. Neither was he the reclusive new-age artiste like Prince Zediah.
He was Prince Zawadi, unique and owning her at this moment, considering heâd managed to flip the situation around to have her on the defensive.
Before she could tell him that she needed at least an hour to eat a meal and recoup her strength, he was already striding away from her to the gym exit.
Prince Zik sauntered over, still chuckling. âHeâs something else, isnât he?â
âYou can say that again,â Danai muttered as she packed up her kit. âI need food and a shower. I donât have enough time.â
âYouâre going to be training with a bunch of sweaty men.â The prince grinned. âNone of us will mind if youâre already sweaty. But I get it. Itâs a woman thing. So go grab a quick shower in the locker room, and Iâll order you a protein shake from the gym café.â
âOh, sure. That will be great.â She grabbed her bag, ready for the bathroom.
âWhatâs your boot size? Iâm thinking about eight?â Prince Zik asked, looking at her trainers as he pulled a phone from his pocket.
She paused. âEight and a half. Why?â
âThose indoor trainers wonât help on the field. You need studded boots. Iâm responsible for making sure everyone has the right kit. I should have something ready by the time you finish in the shower.â
âAm I getting a jersey as well?â she asked.
âSure.â
âAnd you know my size?â
âOf course.â He winked and turned away to speak to someone on the phone.
The prince really lived up to his reputation. He must order female clothing frequently to be able to assess her size by just looking at her.
Shaking her head, she hurried towards the changing rooms and past Prince Zareb, who had climbed onto a rowing machine. âGood morning, Your Highness.â
âGood morning,â he replied with a nod.
In the female changing room, she stripped down, wrapped her hair into a top bun to avoid getting it wet and walked into one of the cubicles.
