SAFE WATER IS ESSENTIAL

There once was a time when it would have been unnecessary to include a chapter in this book on how to make water found in the backcountry safe for drinking, but those days are gone. Today there are few areas left in the backcountry, or anywhere else, where one can trust the quality of the water and be safe in doing so.
