In the case of Kuiba 1 and the whole series, the racial group setting follows the above combination method, which is reflected in the visual aspect of the mortal beings on an earth that includes eleven racial groups (Geluomohe people, Huiyao, Jisika people, Linyao, Dragon race, Motuo people, Saku people, Beast race, Winged race, Zhe race and Wuyao).104 Compared with the deities in the heaven who share a similar human-like appearance, some of the above imaginary creatures on the earth show variation in size and appearance while featuring a combination of human and animal in body composition. For instance, the Beast race is portrayed as an animal-headed warrior group with an overall humanoid silhouette (Figure 4.10). Meanwhile, the Winged race is characterized by a combination of eagle-like wing and human body (Figure 4.11). Figures belonging to Linyao group feature a night-elf-like pointed ear under a human silhouette (Figure 4.12). In other words, the above creatures are a hybrid of partial animal elements and an overall human-like appearance, which is analogous to their counterparts in Classic of Mountains and Seas and other Chinese mythical texts.
