WE TAPE OUR show at the Schiller Theater in Berlin, the venue where they also shot the 2007 season of Das Supertalent, the German version of the international Insert-Country-Name’s Got Talent TV franchise.

It’s kind of funny that we’re hosting a comedy competition in Germany because, well, the Germans have a reputation for being very precise, rigid, and regimented. Good for making cuckoo clocks. Not so much for comedy.

But the comic representing Germany in the competition, Fritz Fuhrmann, does a great job of spinning that stereotype into comic gold.

“People think we Germans are so uptight and analytical and structured,” he says, very sternly. “But that’s not true and I’m here to prove it.” He pauses and raises a finger. “JOKE NUMBER ONE …”
