Don’t Take It Personally

This might be the hardest thing to do, but you’ve got to walk in and out of these audition rooms without taking anything that happens personally. It’s a job, and most of the time when you audition you are in and out, and you won’t have a sense of how the audition went. For as many auditions you go on feeling that way, there will be times where you’ll feel great about the work you did, where you have ample time to prepare, where you get excellent direction, and where casting takes their time with you and makes you feel really good about your work.

However, the only thing you can truly count on is you. Prepare as best you can and set the room, take your time and smile, be proud of your work and leave it at the door—because everything else is out of your control.
