“I need to go home,” I said after getting out of an incredibly nice and extremely hot bath with Alex.

“Why?”

“Because tomorrow we work, and I need to go. I live there, my things are there. It's getting dark and I need to go home.”

“Are you sure you'd rather do that than sleep here?”

“I am... we don't have to be on top of each other all the time.”

“Rina,” he said hugging me. He looked really hot with that towel around his waist while I wore a fuzzy robe, “I'd like to have you here always, but since that's what you want, I'll take you home,” he said, giving me a peck on the lips.

“What are we going to do?”

“With what?”

“With work. I don't want anyone to know about this ‘thing’ of ours...”

“Thing?” He laughed, “you're in charge. It's your will, isn't it? Have sex till it's over.”

“You won't let me forget.”

“Never!” He said giving me another peck, “I won't give you up here, pack a bag and spend the week with me. We'll arrive so early that no one will see us together.”

“What if they do?”

“I gave you a ride, is that so bad? Come on, love, let me have that feeling. I have a tub; we could use it.”

I smiled and kissed him. It was so light and weird and the butterflies in my stomach were dancing crazy for this “new” thing.

“All right, but I still need to go to my place and pack my things.”

The days went by and everything became natural. We worked as if nothing was happening and went to Alex's house and we cooked, watched TV and had sex. Hannah looked at me in a weird way, but I just decided to ignore my sister so as not to hear any moral lessons about my life.

We were adults and she knew what I was doing, but she never really gave her opinion when she saw me. We went out for our scheduled drinks and she just told me to be careful and choose well before I fell in love. And that was it, like she knew that anything could scare me and make me run away from Alex.

I was in a happy bubble. It was very easy to live with him and suddenly I found myself thinking I was always wrong about who Alex really was.

I had lunch with him every day we could, but on Tuesday, he made an appointment with Daniel. He happened to get on the elevator after having lunch, meeting my former boss was a strange realization.

I definitely didn't feel anything for him, and I should have a delirium about the love I felt. It just left me wondering about my feelings for Alex, but I didn't want to think. It was not even a relationship; it would be dangerous to fall in love with him.

“How's it going? A lot of work?” Daniel asked. He wasn't even my friend, I could tell. Hannah tried to warn me, but I needed to make amends for myself.
