The Turning Position

It is not really agreed upon how to do the “turning position” or the “spin”. Some say that the man, while having intercourse, turns around while still inside the woman, while she grasps him around the back the whole time. In this variation of the position, the woman provides a bit of help as the man effects his spin. She uses her hands on his back and waist to keep him stable and keep the turn easy and smooth.

Others say that the man is seated and grasping the woman from behind, so that while with her back to him, she turns around from back to front so that she is facing him. This position then changes again to a rear-entry position with the woman in control. This is, again, done without the man withdrawing. Penetration is constant while these spins are occurring.

Either way, the turning position is one that requires practice and consideration for the partner. Because it relies on absolute trust, this can be one of the most intimate poses. It is not a position you would attempt with a new sexual partner. Perhaps this is a position best accomplished when there is great love for the other person. Any kind of aggression, even just unchecked passion, could injure the other person.
