Pa’lante’s restorative justice efforts involve three modalities with young people at the helm: peer leaders, youth participatory action research (YPAR), and youth as staff.6

Because the other case studies in this book discuss youth Circle Keepers in detail, I focus more on the ways peer leaders can deepen their engagement in RJ through YPAR and as members of a leadership pipeline in which they have the opportunity to be hired as alumni fellows. I then lift up a unique aspect of Pa’lante’s organizational structure that has contributed to the sustainability of RJ work and youth leaders, their intergenerational advisory board, or CAB.
