“Find anything out?”

Isori, who had his upper body inside the upright tank’s cockpit item from which they’d dragged the pilot, pulled himself out in response to the voice, turned around, and shook his head. “Nothing. I’m not very knowledgeable about weapons like these, but I think it’s an old model they sell in used marketplaces. I couldn’t find anything on it to pinpoint what country it’s registered to.”

“They have marketplaces for used weapons?” asked Mayumi, surprised.

Isori smiled and nodded. “There’s a market for used fighter jets, too. Even World War II weapons are still around for pocket conflicts.”

“Huh,” said Mayumi, impressed.

Isori began to smile even wider, but then something disturbed the air next to him. He didn’t have to turn around to know who it was. He tightened up, loosened his expression, and looked at Mayumi once again. “Of course, even in used marketplaces, it’s easiest to get weapons from allied nations. This upright tank seems to be from eastern Europe, so I’d say the chances are high that these agents are from the Great Asian Alliance… But to know the mastermind for sure, I don’t think there’s any option but to make the pilots tell us.”

“But will they tell us the truth?” Kanon asked.

Mayumi shrugged. “That’s where we rely on Mari’s skill.”

“Then I’m going to go help them clear the space out,” Isori offered with a bow.

As she watched him leave with Kanon right behind him, Mayumi went over to Mari and the others who were going to be doing the interrogation.
