Now I had finally heard enough. Did you notice something in the conversation? No? Babsi never once called her dog by his name. And everything was very reproachful: “The dog did …”

So we first went to our fenced area. Babsi was supposed to let her Bobby off the lead there.

She did so and glanced at me with pure despair. I promised her to catch Bobby – even it if took until night-time (it was ten o’clock in the morning). Bobby moved away very slowly, but went farther and farther. He wasn’t running, he was walking. Farther and farther. He snooped his way to the fence opposite us – several hundred yards away from us.

Now Babsi had to call him. She did: “Bobby – Heeeere!” Bobby looked back – and stayed where he was. It took almost half an hour until Bobby came within two metres of Babsi. Babsi wanted to “catch” him and threw herself at him. I had seen enough, sent Babsi out of the area and asked the little daughter to call the dog. She cooed with her little voice: “Bobby – come to me?” You cannot imagine what happened then: Bobby looked around to see where she was and raced like a maniac towards the little girl. She laughed and petted her Bobby.

Babsi had been watching from a distance. I saw a tear running down her cheek. Babsi understood quickly. Three long conversations ensued – only between myself and Babsi, while the children played outside with the dogs (including Bobby) under the supervision of my daughter. Babsi needed a thorough “brain and heart washing”. But she realized quickly that it wasn’t “the dog” – it was Babsi herself who needed it.

It only took Babsi six weeks to change her thinking, to allow and amplify feelings – four months later Bobby always went along: to go climbing, jogging, swimming – he always ran along without a lead. He often even waited somewhere without a lead until his owner came back. There was no more fear – meanwhile there is a second dog in the family who is also allowed to go everywhere with the family just like Bobby. But why did the problem arise in the first place?

Similar to Eva, there was a situation sometime in the beginning when Babsi was distracted and Bobby didn’t come when she called him. She called him again, but this time with the energetic vibration of impatience. You know the rest. The situation escalated – the more negative the vibrations were that Babsi sent out, the worse Bobby felt – he reacted in his own way. After the so-called “training” with the hunter, Bobby also became afraid of pain. Of course he didn’t want to expose himself to this and so he didn’t even go near Babsi anymore. She in turn became angrier and more insecure …

That’s how it can go. If you don’t interrupt the vicious cycle abruptly and change your thinking, critically examining yourself and your actions and reactions with a “magnifying glass”, you will form a “problem dog”.
